I am a sewist, machine embroidered and crafter of all kinds. I make both the pleated mask and the profile kind. I have 2 embroidery machines and a cricut machine. I think vinyl is safer for the masks as it doesn't add more holes, but can do embroidery on the bottom edges of the masks, depending on what is requested. I love making masks, it's fast and easy for me.

I'm a Stanford employee that has been sewing cloth face masks (~100 to date) for donation and for purchase during my free time. I’m using a pattern recommended by COVID-19 site. It has a lining pocket with space to insert a filter if desired. The sides are adjustable with one long tie (no elastic) and a flexible nose wire. Recommend hand wash in hot soapy water, line dry to preserve wire and fabric. Hot iron when dry helps sanitize and shape mask.
